The team talk at half time was pretty simple to continue the tempo we started with carry on winning individual battles across the field and finish the game with 3 points.

I just want to start off by giving a shout out to every single one of our players today as the work rate and intensity that we asked from them was delivered from the get-go so well done boys.

From minute one I think we took control of the game and dominated in all areas of the pitch. The first half was great we worked our shape brilliantly, we were direct in getting the ball forward to our front men and we were solid in the middle of the park and at the back making it extremely difficult for the opposition to break us down. An early sending-off from Sandiacre got them frustrated and sometimes that can unsettle mindsets in the game but I think our composure was brilliant it didn’t affect us and the lads continued to do what we asked of them giving us a comfortable 3-0 lead at half time.

The team talk at half time was pretty simple to continue the tempo we started with carry on winning individual battles across the field and finish the game with 3 points.

Second half started good again we had full control and got an early goal to keep the momentum going. We had to swap a few things round with max having to come off with an injury early on in the second half but again that didn’t affect any of the lad's mindsets and intensity that we asked them to play with and we got the job done.

We was very disappointed in conceding the 2 goals because I think they were sloppy to give away and 2 moments of just switching off but overall a really comfortable performance and win for us to take into our next league fixture.

The changing room is buzzing the lads are taking in what we as a management team are asking of them and I can really feel a positive atmosphere around the squad. We let the lads know at full time we were disappointed in conceding the 2 goals and the discipline we expect but it’s comes from us setting high standards and expectations which the lads are fully starting to take on board and showing us what they can do.

That’s 2 wins out of 2 now in the league, 6 points and 8 goals scored so I’m really happy for the lads and us as a management team are continuing to push forward week by week which is now starting to show with results and performances. We’ve got good quality throughout the squad and it’s always a huge positive knowing we have quality to come off the bench that we can rely on to make an impact.

I want to give a special shout-out to a few of the lads today. First being Max who over the last couple of games has really worked hard and grafted so his goal today was fully deserved. Daniel who come off the bench today made an instant impact and got a great assist and gave us more threats down the left-hand side. And finally, Andrew who also came off the bench today gave us some real flare down the right-hand side and scored a beautifully taken goal!

We will go into Tuesday's training session with a good buzz and set up ready for our next league fixture away next Saturday.

Up The Boatmen!
