After the new first team manager appointment we have reached out to Paul for a few words about his appointment along with a few words from our Chairman Sam Ralph
First team manager - Paul Rockley
I am delighted to join Dunkirk a club with a rich history and on the back of a very successful season which I must praise the outgoing management team for their work.
Personally what attracted me to Dunkirk was its very credible reputation.
After meeting Chairman Sam Ralph and Vice Chairman Shaun Brittain, I was in no doubt about the clubs ambition and also the smooth and credible club operation, after two roles in Step 5 in very transitional ownership and operations.
I feel Dunkirk has the setup where I can implement my attacking brand of football and continue to develop and give opportunities to younger players when the opportunity presents itself.
I look forward to working with the players, the committee and the AFC staff building the club and continuing on upwards.
Up the boatmen
Chairman Sam Ralph
I was not expecting to be in a position to have to recruit a manager so soon in my role as Chairman, however, we have been able to attract some strong applicants and I thank them all for their interest.
In Paul, I believe we have recruited someone who has bought into what the club has planned out in developing the relationship between First Team and AFC Dunkirk and creating a pathway for players to develop and contribute toward taking the club forward.
Paul has managed previously at Step 5 with Eastwood Town and AFC Mansfield and has had the opportunity recently between roles to watch a lot of football so I look forward to seeing the squad assemble throughout pre-season and am confident we will have a positive season.
