Club Announcement – First Team Management Update

Martyn Cheatle30 Oct 2024 - 21:17

Welcome to Jack Jeys, new to this part of the world but not new to non-league football.

To deliver success, non-league football requires an extremely committed, enthusiastic management team, who can devote the time and energy required to produce that winning formula.

The club are delighted to confirm the management team;
Team Manager – Sam Ralph, having taken the team on an interim basis and had a very positive response from the players will continue in his role on a permanent basis.

Having had previous management experience, his appetite and enthusiasm remain constant.

To devote the necessary time to the team, Sam will take a step back from his role as Chairman for the foreseeable future.

Head Coach – Welcome to Jack Jeys, new to this part of the world but not new to none league football. After a long and successful playing journey, Jack is now entering the next stage of his career - management.

Jack plied his trade as an ‘Old fashioned striker’ and his style is one of total commitment, enthusiasm with the ability to rat for the next goal opportunity. Former clubs include Rushall Olympic, Worcester City, Stamford and Bedworth United. At the age of 16 (now in his early thirties), Jack began his footballing Journey at Solihull Moors under the management of Micky Moore & Lee Carsley and throughout his career learned is trade under some very successful non-league managers.

Sam Ralph said ‘I am delighted to bring Jack into the management team alongside myself and James Dobson. Jack has had a fantastic playing career and although we have only recently met, it feels like we have known each other for years. I am very excited to see what we can achieve with a very talented group of players now we have a structured management team in place.

Coach – James Dobson (Dobbo to his mates and players). Not new to the club or team but integral in the future development of the team. A young UEFA-qualified coach, working on his own development with the desire to ultimately become a manager, Dobbo’s positive never be negative outlook is infectious in the dressing room and a key ingredient to building the team ethic of the group.

We reached out to Jack for a few words.

“Firstly I would like to thank Shaun, Ralphy & the board for the opportunity they have given me here to kickstart my management career. I am very happy to accept the 1st team head coach position at Dunkirk FC.

After just finishing a very successful 14 year non-league playing career at the highest levels, I have decided that it’s now the right time for me to use my knowledge and experience to step into the management side of the game.

Having won league titles, play off’s, cup finals and golden boots I know what is needed for a group to become successful and most importantly enjoy the journey that comes with it.

I have played under some fantastic managers and coaches across the way and built some great relationships over the years so I’m now looking to use everything I’ve learnt and implement that into coaching here at Dunkirk FC. I’m a huge believer that the coaches and managers who have the quality experience of playing the game at the best levels become the most influential to the players and most successful, so with that being said I’m ready to get going and bring high standards and expectations to the club.

I met with the lads for my first session last night and the session was full of intensity and smiles all around so I’m very grateful to the club for bringing me on board and look forward to the journey ahead!

Up the boatmen!”

Shaun continues: To complete the team we are looking for a physio to join the team. For any interested parties please contact shaun.brittain@hotmail.com.

On behalf of the club committee and all its members, a heartfelt we wish you every success in your endeavour’s to take the club forward.
